1984 (1984) – 75%
Might be fairly opaque to people that have not read the novel, but pretty remarkable regardless.
1408 (2007) – 70%
Continues the theory that Stephen King short stories make better movies than his novels. One nit – all of the movie’s alternative endings are poor.
127 Hours (2010) – 60%
Not as good as the consensus seems to be, but still engaging. I prefer “Cast Away” to this.
21 Grams (2003) – 60%
Non-linearity that kinda works.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999) – 55%
A movie very similar to this gets made every five years. Probably Heath Ledger’s most charming performance.
