Too long, and there is a fair bit of pseudoscience involved, but for its grand ambition it’s not dumb. Quite a spectacle.

Munich (2005) 50%
Too long, and could have used a finer touch with suspense than Spielberg can manage.
Rio 2 (2014) 40%
Too much sugar added to the formula.
Rio (2011) 70%
Delightful.
Away We Go (2009) 70%
Some very funny moments early on that tapered away towards the end, leaving a decent movie.
Pitch Perfect (2012) 80%
Very funny, though it may have taken too close aim of its target audience. I wonder if I would have liked it less had I been a regular “Glee” viewer. Must have been fun to write.
Total Recall (2012) 20%
I think this film is only a “remake” because some studio exec decided that it wouldn’t make enough money unless it had some name recognition cache, causing the director/screenwriter to throw in the bare plot necessities to make it “Total Recall”. It would have taken very little effort for this movie not to be a remake of anything. Then again, it would have taken very little effort to add in some humor or intelligence or psychological tension as well. The scene where Jessica Biel’s character sheds a tear likely made anyone who enjoyed the original film cringe. The action was well choreographed and the CGI was competent.
The Fighter (2010) 80%
Really thought the ending would be different, as the whole film plays like a tragedy. Great performances all around – not sure how they coaxed one out of Bale.
Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) 30%
Yet more moron glorification out of Hollywood.
Werewolf: The Beast Among Us (2012) 50%
A B-movie with some care taken.
